About Me

Reinvent Your Home

My name is Jackie. Welcome to my new blog. This blog is designed to offer advice and information to anyone out there who is considering reinventing their home. I woke up one morning and realised that I hadn't changed the decor of my home in over 15 years. The wallpaper was faded, the fireplace looked dated and the paint on the walls was chipped and cracked. I woke my husband and insisted that we take action. The next day, I contacted various remodelling contractors and started discussing plans. I spent the next couple of weeks chatting with them as they completely transformed my home. I was so pleased with the result, I decided to start a blog.

Kitchen Renovations in 2017 That Will Keep You in Your Kitchen All Day

On days when you are not working, you may choose to make a home cooked meal for you and your family. One thing that will get you to enjoy cooking much more is your kitchen design. The ambience of your kitchen is essential if you love making home cooked meals. The design will make movement through the kitchen easier, making time spent in the kitchen more fun and increase space if you have a large family. Well, here are some of the kitchen renovations that will keep you in your kitchen all day in 2017.

Blending kitchen and living spaces

In 2017, kitchen renovations will include blending the ambience in the living areas with the kitchen. When you have a kitchen design that matches the rest of the house, modern day aesthetic needs show that this is the way to go. In addition, with appliance innovations arising every day, you know that you will need to ensure that you are up to date with their installation. For instance, you may need a larger eating area or a larger microwave in the kitchen. Matching these kitchen renovations with the rest your home is aesthetically appealing. You will want to spend more time there with your family.

Colours that you should use in 2017

Mainly, you want colours that will complement each other; use of ceramic whites, light veneers, and exposed timber is a very good idea when considering kitchen renovations. In case you have cantilever interiors, you can complement these with timber highlights and white palette.

These colours provide for a serene backdrop, and over time, you can consider another kitchen design. It is also easier to customize your kitchen using wall colours and home wares.

Trending cabinetry and bench tops in 2017

To be practical, you will require integrated workstations just behind the cabinet doors. You can easily access commonly used appliances. This also helps keep the bench tops free. It is essential when doing such kitchen renovations to consider the aesthetics of your kitchen to ensure you blend the cabinets with the wall colour and the rest of the kitchen ambience.

In addition, consider the height of the cabinets when getting them installed. The kitchen design you choose will be a reflection of how the rest of your living quarters appear.

Finally, if you are a lover of flora, you can include some hanging plants and leafy greenery to spark some life in your kitchen design.  For those who are into trends, your kitchen design after kitchen renovations is an extension of the rest of your living quarters in 2017.
