About Me

Reinvent Your Home

My name is Jackie. Welcome to my new blog. This blog is designed to offer advice and information to anyone out there who is considering reinventing their home. I woke up one morning and realised that I hadn't changed the decor of my home in over 15 years. The wallpaper was faded, the fireplace looked dated and the paint on the walls was chipped and cracked. I woke my husband and insisted that we take action. The next day, I contacted various remodelling contractors and started discussing plans. I spent the next couple of weeks chatting with them as they completely transformed my home. I was so pleased with the result, I decided to start a blog.

Office Fitout Hacks When Remodelling the Workplace for Enhanced Productivity

Most business owners will engage in an office fitout when they have recently moved into new premises or if they have newly relaunched their business. However, this should not be the only reason why one should consider embarking on this project. If you have noticed that employee output has been dwindling gradually or perhaps they are struggling with motivation, an office fitout may be just what is needed.

What some people take for granted is the massive impact that their environment has on productivity. Without motivation, it is very easy for one's mood to dip and this, in turn, will adversely affect your work. To counter this, consider the following office fitout hacks when remodelling your workplace for enhanced productivity.

Improve the lighting

One of the easiest ways to revamp the appearance of your office space while simultaneously enhancing the performance of your employees is by asking the remodelling contractors to improve the lighting of your premises. A characteristic of a majority of offices is the use of fluorescent lighting. Although this type of lighting is common, it is neither attractive nor mood-enhancing. Consequently, employees tend to feel drained and unmotivated after each workday since they have spent many hours working under this artificial light. A better option for your workplace is natural lighting.

For your office fitout, you can have your remodelling contractors add more windows or make the pre-existing windows large so that they allow filter in more natural light. Take note, it is advisable to opt for double glazed window glass that will limit thermal gain and subsequently limit your office's reliance on the air conditioning. Alternatively, if you do not have the budget for renovating your windows, the remodelling contractors can focus on reorienting all the workstations to face the pre-existing windows.

Limit the clutter

A cluttered work environment is not conducive for productivity as your team's members may be subconsciously disorganised since this is the environment that they are surrounded by each day. Nonetheless, clutter is somewhat a characteristic of busy work environments. But this does not mean that you and your employees have to be encircled by documents, files and so on. Instead, you should integrate smart storage solutions during your office fitout.

Smart storage does not simply work to ensure that workspaces are free of disarray. Rather, the storage solutions should be discreet enough to not take up more floor space than they need to while remaining accessible to your employees. Built-in cubbies on work desks, portable storage carts for shared documents and so on can facilitate hot-desking, which bolsters organisation while maximising the space available in your office.
